There are dozens of new and old trails at Mount Seymour. Some of the older trails have been around since the beginning of the freeride movement, and Pangor is one of these.

From the trailhead, where you'll find trail maps and toilets, Old Buck starts gently winding through tall, lush old-growth forest that eventually starts climbing steeper and steeper. Up until recently Old Buck used to climb straight from the parking area to the Baden Powell connector, and it was pretty grueling. The trail now zigzags through the forest, and this has effectively made the climb easier and more enjoyable. From the top of Old Buck to the top of Pangor is another climb, but it is only a few hundred meters. The Pangor Trailhead is well marked and has a trail map indicating your position and other trails in the vicinity.

Dropping into Pangor is an immediate rush that keeps you on your toes. Rated as a black diamond, the trail has lots of woodwork and drops that become very slippery in the wet conditions. Narrow singletrack over natural and man-made features brings you down the mountain with white knuckles. The end of the loop brings you through Empress Bypass, a much easier and flowy trail with large banked corners and wooden bridges.

Once back to Old Buck you can shoot up for another lap or out to the parking area to call it a day.
