Just minutes from Monterey and offering amazing views, Del Monte Beach is worth the stop. It's name is derived from the historic Del Monte Resort, and it is part of a chain of Monterey State Beaches.

The parking lot is located in a residential neighborhood, and there is plenty of free parking in the lot or on the street. For a worthwhile view, take a short walk down the wooden trail to a park bench on the cliff's edge. With the beach being so close to Monterey's coastal waterfront, the historic Cannery Row is quite visible.

Fires are permitted on Del Monte Beach as long as you keep them in the provided fire rings. Dogs are welcome here as well. Beach-combing, surfing, and kayaking are all common shoreline activities.
