Perched 600 feet above and 1.2 miles from the rest of the 171-site Crystal Lake Recreation Area Campground, Deer Flat Group Campground is ideally isolated and removed from the hustle of the rest of Crystal Lake Recreation Area.

Situated on a bluff adjacent to Sunset Ridge, Deer Flat Group Campground is composed of 10 large campsites, each appropriately constructed to handle parties of 10 to 15 people. From the campground there is easy access to numerous hiking and riding trails within the recreation area, including the most popular Windy Gap Trail and Mount Islip Summit Hike, both of which are accessible via the South Mount Hawkins Fire Road.

Note: Call Crystal Lake Resort at 626.910.1149 on weekends and 626.335.1251 on weekdays for seasonal open dates and details. Potable water is not available, and it is only seasonally available at Crystal Lake Recreation Area Campground, so be sure to pack in plenty of water.
