Located directly in Stovepipe Wells, this campground is quite close to a variety of amenities and adventures to enhance your Death Valley National Park experience. The campsites are located directly behind the general store and gas station, which is quite convenient. A restaurant, lounge, and gift shop are also within walking distance. Stovepipe Wells Ranger Station is a block away if you need to pay your park entrance fee or obtain backcountry hiking permits.

Among the least expensive campsites in the park, Stovepipe Wells is a great option if you are looking to stay in one spot as it is conveniently located near many of the park's popular attractions. Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, Salt Creek, Harmony Borax Works and many more fascinating sites are just a few miles from here. This campground is the second largest in the park with 190 non-reservable camping spaces.

Camping at this location is best suited for trailer, RV, or car camping as the sites are nothing more than individual places to park. No full-hookup sites are available. Some may or may not have a picnic table or a fire pit. For the most part, individual sites are stacked side-by-side with virtually no privacy. Tent campers can expect a level but rocky surface to pitch their tent. The restrooms have flush toilets, and potable water is on site. As with most campgrounds in Death Valley, the paybox for this campground will only accept a credit card. This campground is open from September 15 through Mother’s Day weekend. Stovepipe Wells is nothing fancy, but at $12 a night with a fantastic location, it is definitely worth considering.
