One of the four wonderful waterfalls the Whiskeytown Recreation Area has to offer, this one may be the best one of them all! With a cool, crisp mountain hike through shade and forest, it offers a great get away for the day in summer here in Northern California. With multiple waterfall sections and five separate pools, Brandy Creek Falls offers an extremely unique waterfall experience.

It is a 25-foot straight drop to the pool from the top section of the falls, and from there a smaller cascade forms another nice drop in the the pool below that. From there the creek shoots down an almost 100-foot sloping cascade. While other falls in the area such as Boulder Creek Falls are wonderful, Brandy Creek Falls offers great views and a variety of falls all in one package. The trail offers viewpoints of every aspect of this set of falls, and it is well worth the 1.5-mile hike in. The trail itself is mostly uphill and will be a bit of a trek, but the hike in isn't overly difficult. Make sure to bring water and a nice lunch to enjoy at the falls themselves. There are several areas to enjoy the falls, whether from above, below or right on them.
