Paradise Campground is far and away the largest campground on the McKenzie River, boasting 64 campsites, a year-round boat ramp, a small amphitheater, and direct trail access.  Dense vegetation is the saving grace for this campground, for one look at a map shows how closely the sites are laid out.  The in-person experience is much better, however, as each site enjoys walls of verdant foliage that screen out the neighbors.  The result is a seemingly endless succession of individually private sites, each very much the equal of the other.

When it comes to making reservations, all the sites are equally good.  The downside risk is the potential for noise arising from such a large cluster of campers.  Potable water spigots are spaced out equally along the road winding through the campground, as are the four vault toilets.  Several sites are better designed for trailers, though none have hook-ups, and a few group sites are available for a double rate.

Paradise is centrally located for several adventures in the area, and it is a particularly good choice if you are hiking or biking the McKenzie River Trail or floating on the McKenzie River.

Note: Like many campgrounds in the area, Paradise Campground is closed through the winter.  The boat ramp remains open all year.
