The Mount Carbon Loop at Bear Creek Lake Park is an excellent ride for for all skill levels. The trees, lakes, and streams make this a good place to hide from the heat of summer. The trail is located within a few miles of Red Rocks Park and Dinosaur Ridge outside of Morrison.

Bear Creek Lake Park is a multi-use park with activity-specific trails. The park features beaches, swimming, horseback riding, hiking, biking, boating, archery, shelter camping, fishing, and just about every other activity and amenity you can imagine.

The Mount Carbon Loop takes you on a winding singletrack tour of the entire park. It won't take much pedaling to get around, and the trails are fast and flowy with little elevation gain. After finishing a ride, consider stopping for a swim to cool down. You may catch a glimpse of pelicans, loons, ducks, and other fowl nesting on the shores of Bear Creek Lake.

A few sections of trail by the creek have been damaged from flooding in the spring of 2015, and detours are well marked throughout.
