Mammoth Lakes Basin is home to five scenic alpine lakes nestled below Mammoth Crest in the Eastern Sierra. Lying on the shore of one of these lakes is the charming mountain resort of Tamarack Lodge. Located just a couple of miles up the road from the town of Mammoth, Tamarack Lodge sits on the edge of an alpine wilderness, offering a cozy home base to explore the beauty of the Sierra.

The historic lodge offers 10 chalet-style guest rooms, a cozy fireside lobby, and a lakeside restaurant and bar. Guest rooms are located on the second floor, half of which contain private baths; the other half use a shared bath. A two-bedroom suite occupies the third floor.

In addition to the lodge building itself, Tamarack operates 35 private cabins, all within walking distance of the lodge. Cabins range from studios to three-bedroom accommodations. Both historic and deluxe models are available.

Outdoor recreational options abound in the Mammoth Lakes Basin, and Tamarack is well-situated to take advantage of them. Hiking, mountain biking, and fishing are popular summer activities. Twin Lakes, right out the front door, is stocked with Alpers rainbows. Rods and boat rentals are available to guests. There are numerous trails that explore the five lakes and afford access to Mammoth Crest.

Winter brings a whole new set of outdoor recreational options to the area ranging from snowshoeing and cross country skiing to backcountry skiing and downhill resort skiing at Mammoth Mountain just a mile down the road. Adjacent to the lodge is Tamarack Cross Country Ski Center, which offers equipment rentals, lessons, and access to miles of Nordic trails that explore the Mammoth Lakes Basin.
