Split Rock Falls is a beautiful waterfall on the Bouquet River tucked just out of view along Route 9 near Keene Valley. It drops roughly 45 feet over a double drop with a separate 8-foot ledge downstream. Even if you don't plan on swimming, it's a great place to stop and enjoy the views.

From the parking area you can follow a variety of footpaths to various overlooks and eventually down to the base of the falls. A large pool separates the double drop from the ledge downstream, allowing swimmers to swim very close to the base of the impressive double drop.

Many people jump from the river left side of the double drop into the large pool at its base. This should only be attempted at low water by strong swimmers, as the hydraulic at the base of the double drop is very powerful.

Below the final ledge, a deep pool awaits with a cobblestone beach at the downstream end.
