La Jolla Cove is renowned for its prime kayaking, scuba diving, and snorkeling. But even if you’re a landlubber, the scenic cove is still definitely worth a visit. The beach at the north end of Scripps Park is small, but it has great views and is in fact one of the most photographed beaches of San Diego county. From the small sandy beach, seals and the occasional sea lion are visible, basking on rocks just off-shore. Look out for the occasional Garibaldi, a bright orange fish which is unusually common in La Jolla Cove.

When you’re ready to stretch your legs, head up the staircase and to the left, where you can join the Coast Walk Trail. This easy trail hugs the bluffs and offers fantastic views for just about the entire length. Some points of access to the cliffs allow visitors to get up close and personal with the cormorants, brown pelicans, or seagulls. Exercise caution on the bluffs!

Parking is available on-street, but it is limited. Be prepared to park and walk, or park in a paid lot.

Loved snorkeling here, moreso than the hike even. The bathroom area at the south end of the public park has a great key to possible Marine life you'll see.
However, the congestion was astronomical. Definitely not a place for a peaceful, secluded day. There wasn't an inch of trail, beach, or water that wasn't claimed.

La Jolla Cove, great place for outdoor water sports snorkeling, kayaking, scuba diving, SUP, and much more.
