The largest campground on the lake, Crescent Lake Campground is also close to Highway 58 and offers the lake’s most accessible day use beach and boat ramp. Crescent Lake Campground is also a short walk from Crescent Lake Resort, so amenities such as a restaurant, bar, small store, and boat rentals are just a few steps away. Numerous trails are nearby, including the Fawn Lake Trailhead located in the day use parking area attached to the campground. Aside from the boat ramp, the campground offers potable water, and each site comes with a picnic table and a fire pit.

The majority of the sites at Crescent Lake Campground are sizable and well-spaced. Given the campground’s location, there are relatively few sites that are directly on the water, but every site is fairly close. The campground also offers three yurts that are available by reservation only, and the season for these yurts extends into the winter, access permitting. Pets are not allowed in yurts. Finally, if you are planning to camp between Memorial Day and Labor Day, come prepared for mosquitoes. They can be intense here once the nights warm to lows that fall above freezing; respite usually comes late in the summer.

I don't know that this campground is first-come no-reservation any longer. I was able to reserve a space last night via recreation.gov
