I have been an avid hiker/backpacker/climber since I was a kid. Photographing the wilderness has become a part of me. I just love experiencing the outdoors and if I can make a photo that conveys how I felt at that moment in that place, I'm happy.
A premiere paddling location.
A beautiful nook to explore!
Wildflower seasons vary by elevation and snow pack, of course. But, this year early August seemed to be close to prime for most flowers. I had variable conditions on my trip. So unique to see Wy'East from all its angles within a few days.

An amazingly scenic park to explore! Take your time here and wait for the whales to pass by.
Took this route to the summit last weekend. After some fairly fresh snowfall, we had some pristine conditions. Quite an impressive and intimidating mountain!

Definitely a must for any visitor to the Grand Canyon. Once you're below the rim, there are such variable views of the impressive canyon walls.

Pretty classic Oregonian view that changes quite significantly with the seasons!
I attempted this climb over Memorial Day Weekend, 2016. We had ideal conditions until we arrived at the Prouty Point/Middle Sister saddle and were met with a constant wind we estimated to be 40mph. We didn't feel safe continuing up the steep summit slope with the wind chill and lack of balance so we opted to turn around. Still an incredible place to be and I hope to make it up there one day!

A beautiful little falls sort of off the beaten path in the gorge, it seems.
There is a short walk to the South of the campground to Emerald Falls and lovely footbridge.
It is possible to backcountry camp in this park. There are 10 primitive campsites located along a 2.2 mile loop trail. To obtain a camping permit, simply inquire at the park head quarters' ranger station entrance gate the day of your visit. Spending a night amongst these massive white dunes is a lifetime experience, for sure.

An early arrival could allow for a beautiful sunset view as well as a lack of crowds!
