Crow Pass Cabin is located in the Chugach National Forest just south of Anchorage, Alaska. The 23-mile Crow Pass Trail is a popular backpacking location, and many complete the whole trail. The cabin requires reservations, so make sure you reserve it before going up there. Reservations can be made through the Forest Service.

To start this journey, park at the Crow Creek Trailhead (Girdwood). There is plenty of parking here, and it is very easy to find. From there you ascend the steep 3-mile hike into Crow Pass at 3,600 feet. Along the way you will see old mine ruins, several waterfalls, and beautiful mountain views. The trail starts in vegitation and then transitions into skree and rock. The trail has light usage in June, so it can be difficult to find if you encounter snow. Avalanches can also take their toll on the route. You can take a lower route to avoid avalanche danger or orientation challenges.

After 3 miles the trail will level out and you will see Crow Pass Cabin on the left. The cabin sleeps six, and it has a table and an outhouse. There is no running water or electricity. There is, however, a stove that burns kerosene, which is not provided. Crystal Lake is located beyond the cabin. If you hike another 0.5 miles on the Crow Pass Trail you will reach the actual pass. From here you can see Raven Glacier and the valley below.

Bring bear spray and secure all food.
