Newport Municipal Beach is an iconic California beach. Five miles of sand stretch north and south of Balboa Pier. The beach provides the backdrop for a variety of activities, foremost of which are surfing and bodyboarding. If you’re not inclined to dip into the ocean, you can skateboard or bike along the beach’s boardwalk, and you can pick up your gear at a nearby rental shop.

Fishing is another big attraction at Newport Beach; Balboa Pier juts out 920 feet into the ocean, providing a great platform for fishing for mackerel and flounder. And the famous landmark diner at the end of the pier, Rudy’s Diner, can satiate your hunger.
