Probably the most secluded beach in Wilder Ranch State Park, this sandy little alcove is a great option for those willing to hike a bit to find it. Formerly a dairy ranch, Wilder State Park is now home to a variety of protected animals and plants, most notably the snowy plover. Dolphins and migrating whales are frequently spotted offshore in some areas.
To get to Strawberry Beach directly, first check to see if there are available parking spots at the Three Mile Beach gate near 3050 Coast Road along California 1 (just don’t block the gate). Because parking is so limited in this area, most guests access the beach by parking at Four Mile Beach and then hiking in via the Ohlone Bluffs Trail toward the ocean. You’ll pass Three Mile Beach along the way before winding up ar Strawberry Beach. The beach is mostly occupied by visiting hikers, and keep in mind that this remote little beach is clothing-optional. Currents can be really strong along these beaches, so use caution when venturing out into the water.
