Mojave River Forks Regional Park is a campground located in Hesperia Valley just north of the San Bernardino Mountains. It is not the sheltered, breezy forest camping that can be found in the high country, but is instead flat and exposed. It is a good option in fair weather, however. Large, well-distributed campsites, RV hookups, hot showers, flush toilets, and positioning at the northern gateway to the San Bernardinos are major advantages.
Mojave River Forks provides convenient access to boating and fishing on Silverwood Lake, and from there it is not much further to the San Bernardino Crest and other destinations like Lake Gregory and the Rim of the World Highway. Adventures near Mojave River Forks include the Pacific Crest Trail and Deep Creek Hot Springs. Staying at this campground provides access to it all from a different and less-crowded angle than the typical routes from San Bernardino or Big Bear.
Note: Mojave River Forks Campground is open year round. The entrance gate is closed promptly from 4 p.m. through 8 a.m. seven days a week.
