The cross-country ski and snowshoe trails at the Clair Tappaan Lodge are open to the public for a fee that is included with your stay at the lodge. The Main Drag and Kitty's Cruise is a there-and-back loop that takes you around Lytton Lake. Main Drag starts to the northeast of the front entrance to the Clair Tappaan.

The trail initially starts off on an incline that levels out fairly quickly. This groomed trail is flanked by fir and pine trees that eventually thin out once you near the lake. During the winter months Lytton Lake is iced over and covered by snow. This is where Kitty's Cruise connects, so look for signs near the backside of the lake. Kitty's Cruise loops around to the other side of the lake and brings you back into the thick of the trees.

Follow this trail for about a mile until it connects back to Main Drag. At this point you can continue the way you came or take a small side trail that takes you to the back side of the lodge. The total distance for this enjoyable hike is 2 miles.
