Forty-two large campsites are tucked into the forest at Rocky Bayou State Park alongside nature trails, wildlife viewing, a boat ramp, swimming areas along a small sand beach, and canoe and kayak rentals. Sites range from gravel to sand to concrete (for ADA access), and a handful have a view of the bayou through the trees. Each type has both water and electricity. Plus, campers can use their sites' picnic tables and fire rings for outdoor meals and evening s’mores.

In addition to the amenities at each campsite, the campground includes a heated and air conditioned bathroom complete with showers, vending machines, and laundry facilities. Pets are permitted.

The campgrounds, in addition to being conveniently close to the water, also provide access to two of the three nature trails. Two separate picnic pavilions border the bayou and a newly restored creek system, and the latter is complete with singing frogs and unique, carnivorous pitcher pants.

The park has been designated as a site on the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. Because the campground is located within a forest ecosystem, campers can wake up to the sound of northern cardinals and Carolina chickadees and watch the sky for bald eagles and ospreys. Overall, more than 100 species have been recorded in Rocky Bayou State Park, and camping here provides birding opportunities throughout day.
