The Henderson Beach State Park Campground is one of the most popular camping destinations in the Florida Panhandle, and it is often full. The campsites are tucked into coastal forest conveniently close to the 6,000 feet of sugar-sand Henderson Beach that sits on the Gulf of Mexico.

Camping opportunities were added to the 208-acre park in March of 2000, and today 54 campsites are open for tent and RV camping with both back-in and pull-through options. The sites have both water and electrical hookups, picnic tables, posts, clotheslines, and ground grills. Handicap-accessible sites are available. The bathrooms are heated and air conditioned, while vending machines and coin laundry are available.

For those who like a little civilization with their camping, the restaurants and shops of Destin are just a short drive away. On the other hand, nearby buildings are visible from some of the campsites.

While camping, visitors can enjoy the beach, a 0.75-mile nature trail in the park's dune ecosystem, a small children's playground, covered picnic pavilions, and a boardwalk. Small gift items are available at the check-in station. Birding is popular, with multiple seabirds and shorebirds visible on the sand and songbirds resting in the dune forest. Even sea turtles nest here!
