Morrison Springs Park is a scenic small 161-acre fee-free park set around Morrison Springs.
The second-magnitude spring gushes about 50 million gallons of water daily, usually in a clear emerald blue. The clear waters combined with the bald cypress roots growing and surfacing from the spring water make this a popular diving destination, while a small calm cove accessible by boardwalk stairs near a park with benches, grills, and open lawn space also contribute to the spring being a popular swimming and wading location.
Modern bathrooms serve the park, and its location in a relatively low-populated area of the state mean that this spring sees fewer users than others that are closer to urban centers. And while summer sees visitation at its peak, the springs flow at a constant 68 degrees year round and off-season visitors may find they have the swimming area to themselves.
A boat launch ramp is located about a half-mile drive beyond the park's entrance gate, which offers boaters access to the Choctawhatchee River. It should be noted that river levels and conditions affect the depth, color and clarity of the spring area, and at times of high flow, the spring area may be inundated in a murky dark water that makes swimming and diving less appealing.
