Living near Kennesaw, Georgia, has its share of benefits when compared to some of the craziness of downtown Atlanta. A trail to rival the still in-progress Beltline can be counted among them, and it has been officially open for over two years. The Noonday Creek Trail combines up to 7 miles of paved multi-use path from separated trail and widened sidewalk to connect Bells Ferry with Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.

A project totaling almost $13 million is sure to make your head spin, but with multiple access points, rentable bikes, plenty of benches and trash cans, and enough trail to service a growing community with outdoor enjoyment, it can be hard to put a price on what the benefits might be worth.

The trail starts at Bells Ferry Road and meanders along Noonday Creek toward Barrett Parkway touching the road and paralleling Old 41 to eventually terminate at the Kennesaw Mountain Visitor Center. It offers a perfect extension into the park or along the other paved paths that continue southward. One can only hope that other communities around Atlanta see the benefits and rewards reaped from this kind of investment and are inspired to foster similar projects across the city.
