Hideaways / Pali Ke Kua Beach

Hidaways Beach, or Pali Ke Kua, is located just east of the Saint Regis hotel in beautiful Princeville on the north shore of the Garden Island. This unique spot can be difficult to reach, but it is definitely worth the effort. Great snorkeling, awesome sea shell hunting, occasional surf, and access to a hidden and secluded beach nearby make this a local favorite in Princeville. The beach isn't very large, but the small parking lot keeps it from being overrun. The views from above the beach are absolutely stunning and serve as a common sunset lookout for people that don't head all the way down to the shore. To reach the hidden beach next door you will need to scale the lava rock on the right side of the beach when facing the ocean. It can be slippery, so be careful. There is almost no one at the hidden beach, so you might get the whole thing to yourself. This is where all the best sea shells are; please don't take them with you, just collect, enjoy and replace. The hike down can be a bit slippery especially after rain, but there is a rope to help you in and out of the area. The parking area is pretty small, which is good for keeping the crowds down but bad for anyone who doesn't arrive early. There are no bathrooms, showers or lifeguards present at this beach, so you will need to be fully self-sufficient.
