At the far west end of Haʻena State Park, Ke’e Beach is literally at the end of the road. This beach destination is the furthest you can drive on the north end of Kauai before reaching the Na Pali Coast and the Kalalau Trailhead.

The beach itself is open and sandy and features a unique reef lagoon (there are limited reefs along the Na Pali Coast). Because of this, the water is calmer than most other areas along the coastline, and it makes for an attractive snorkeling and swimming destination. In addition to the snorkelers and swimmers, you will find a gathering of people here at dusk to watch the sunset over the jagged Na Pali Coast.

When it comes to getting into the water at Ke’e, be sure you stay within the calm waters of the lagoon. Ke’e translates to translates to "avoidance," a name that dates back to Hawaiian mythology and alludes to the strong currents outside of the reef.
