Loony's Lakeview Trail offers a short, steep hike through a thick, lush forest. The trailhead is marked by a short sign along Loon Lake Road near the Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort. Limited roadside parking is available here.

The trail climbs steeply as it ascends through classic Oregon Coast Range forest. Vegetation includes an abundance of alder trees, Douglas fir trees, and ferns that grow in the underbrush. Many varieties of wildflowers can also be seen along the trail including foxglove. The trail  then descends into a vast meadow allowing views of the mountains to the east, where evidence of clear cutting can be seen.

The trail ends at the east end of the Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort's Upper Marina area. You can either return the way you came or enjoy a stroll through the RV resort, perhaps to your site if you're staying here, or continue on to the trailhead alongside the road.
