North of the Minneapolis-St. Paul urban core, Vadnais-Sucker Lake Regional Park boasts lake access and a nordic trail network for winter cross-country ski adventures. The park has a lollipop loop cross-country ski trail around Sucker Lake that is 2.3 miles long. The trail is mostly wooded and has views of the lake. The trail is generally flat, but there are some moderately hilly sections on the east side of the lake. The trail has two sets of tracks for classic skiing only. Waterfowl and trumpeter swans may be seen if there is open water on the lake.

The Great Minnesota Ski Pass is required to use this trail. A daily, one-year, or three-year pass are available for purchase, however not at this trailhead. Trailhead parking is located on the north side of County Road F, two blocks east of Rice Street in Vadnais Heights. There is no charge for parking, and the lot will accommodates about 20 vehicles. There is also a portable toilet at the trailhead.
