This North Loop Trail starts at the top of the Lincoln Hills neighborhood with views of wildflowers, trees, and mountains. Follow the signs to the North Loop Trail, and take a right onto it. You will take a left at the next sign you come across to follow the trail to Woods Gulch and Sheep Mountain. This is the start of the Sound of Music Trail (you will see a sign denoting it once you reach the top of the trail).

The Sound of Music Trail winds through open fields filled with flowers and fresh air. There are great views of the Bitterroot Mountains as well. Once you reach the top of the trail it dips down into the woods for the rest of the way. Keep following the signs for Woods Gulch and Sheep Mountain. There will be markers along the trail denoting it as 326. Other trails will merge into it along the way.

You will reach a junction where 326 turns into trail 513. Follow this to the to the next forest road. From this road you can continue on to Sheep Mountain or drink in the views of Woods Gulch below.
