Known for its "beach-driving," Ocean Shores Beach can often be confused for a parking lot. You'll certainly have to watch for traffic while hanging out on this section of Washington's North Beach, which dominates the Point Brown peninsula.

To avoid most of the motor vehicle craze, head to the North Jetty at the beach's southern end. Here at Point Brown you'll find more people strolling on the beach than driving. Popular amongst naturalist, the tip of the North Jetty is also a great location for spotting harbor seals, common murre, and it is also known for rare migratory seabirds such as kittiwakes (similar to western gulls), and shearwaters.

Note: If you are looking for a more tranquil beach experience, "beach-driving" is not permitted at the Oyhut Wildlife Recreation Area + Beach or at Damon Point.
