This is the catch-all campground of campgrounds! Whether you are relaxing on Detroit Lake’s shoreline, enjoying the views of Mount Jefferson, swimming, boating, fishing, making an extended stay with the comforts of your RV, or simply planning your next camping weekend getaway with the kids, Detroit Lake State Park Campground has something for you.
With 274 sites in total, the campground is by far the reservoir’s largest overnight spot, and the majority of the campsites offer electrical and water hook-ups. 107 of the sites are full hook-up and offer sewer connections as well.
Given that Detroit Lake is Oregon’s inland boating mecca, the Campground features a boat ramp and several docks for day use. Overnight moorage is available for designated campers only via a special permit. For those with kids, the park has a designated swimming area, a large playground, and even a basketball court and sand volleyball court (not just for kids of course). The campground also features a visitor center and a general store that offers modest provisions and firewood for sale.
Note: Detroit Lake State Park Campground is open year-round, with first-come, first-served camping limited to the F Loop from November 1 through March 14. Campsites F24, F25, and G30 are ADA accessible.
