Nestled alongside the North Santiam River in the small town of Lyons you will find John Neal Memorial County Park. This campground’s location between Salem and Detroit offers an ideal compromise for those who wish to be close to the recreational opportunities near Detroit Lake, yet not too far from Salem.

The campground consists of 24 individual sites and 12 group sites. Water hookups are available at approximately half of the individual sites. Electrical and sewer hookups are not available. Restrooms and showers are provided in a central location.

Perhaps the park’s best features can be found at the day use area. A boat ramp is available for easy river access. There is also a large field offering picnic areas, volleyball nets, horseshoes, and a playground. A short trail takes off from the campground and meanders by small beaver ponds and swampland before eventually reaching two larger ponds with a picnic area and a small playground.
