Overlook Park is a great destination for having a picnic, walking the dog, taking the kids to a playground, and a range of other activities. The park is over 10 acres, and it offers a number of amenities, including a basketball court, a softball field, an off-leash dog area, a playground, a soccer field, a volleyball court, and a large picnic shelter with restrooms and drinking fountains. These amenities are ADA accessible as well.

If you visit the park, it’s worth staying for the sunset, as Overlook Park really does look over much of downtown Portland, the Willamette River and much of Portland’s riverfront industry. The park hours are 5:00 a.m. to midnight, and the location is easily accessible via light rail: use the Overlook Park MAX Station stop.

As an added bonus, each June Overlook Park is home to the North American Organic Brewers Festival.
