Valley Of The Rogue State Park is a large (about 277 acres) and narrow state park near Interstate 5 and the Rogue River that is made up of two distinct areas: the campground and the day-use area.

The day use area serves as a rest area for travelers along I-5, and it offers a spacious and shady parking area where most visitors just stop for a quick stretch or to use the bathrooms. Immediately past this rest area, however, is a boat launch at a slow-moving bend in the Rogue River, which fishers, waders, floaters and those putting their boats into the river all share. The paved Rogue River Greenway Trail leads west from the rest area and soon accesses the dirt River's Edge Trail, which follows along the bluffs slightly above the river's banks, though it offers numerous short side trails down to the water.

The park also offers a year-round campground, with over 150 spaces, including group areas, RV pull-throughs, and rental yurts. Many of the park and campground facilities were designed to be ADA-compliant.

Throughout the park lie various info kiosks and artifacts marking the historic Applegate Trail's passing through the area to the nearby gold fields.

Accessing the day-use area is free, however the campground has varying use-fees. Nearest gas and amenities are located 5 miles away in the city of Rogue River or 13 miles away in the larger city of Grants Pass.
