Situated on the south side of the lake nestled beneath Chief Joseph Mountain and Bonneville Mountain, Wallowa Lake State Park is an ideal base camp for exploring the adventures the Wallowas have to offer. Besides the plethora of trailheads near the park, two major highlights of the 165-acre state park are the marina and the campground

From May through mid-September, the marina is alive with fisherman on the hunt for kokanee and mackinaw and families playing on the water. The trout are stocked annually, usually by mid-May. There's a public boat launch, slip rentals, hourly stand-up paddle board, canoe, kayak, row boat and motor boat rentals, and a general store where you can purchase bait, snacks, sunscreen, and any other water-related necessities you may have left at home.

The park offers plenty of room for games, a number of picnic tables, and restroom facilities. There are three reservable picnic sites and one reservable covered shelter, the Ice Creek Shelter. You can make your reservations online. Within walking distance you can enjoy wilderness trails at the Wallowa Lake Trailhead, horseback riding, go-karts, canoeing, miniature golf or a tramway ride to the top of Mount Howard.
