Utah Lake State Park has a myriad of recreational opportunities just a short drive from downtown Provo and BYU. One big part of the park's popularity is the very nice campground set close to the lake and the day use area and marina.

Spread across two large loops next to a lakeside wetlands, the campground offers very civilized, if not particularly private, camping. Wide paved roads and paved parking pads, cement picnic table pads under metal shade shelters, flush toilets and nearby showers all make for a comfortable camping experience. Tent campers will find large and open grassy areas to pitch tents. All around the park the mountains loom: the Wasatch Range stands to the east and the Lake Mountains are to the west, and both ranges are visible from practically every campsite.
