The hike to Primrose Lookout is a relatively short trail that starts out from the Summit Trailhead just off the Alpine Loop in American Fork Canyon. The amazing views into Primrose Canyon of Mount Timpanogos are stunning, and you can see the upper levels of Stewart Falls as it cascades down toward the hamlet of Sundance. The trail is a little over 3 miles round trip, so it won't take very long to reach the high-impact views that are common in the area. There are several nice meadows along the way, and there are only a few steep sections. The trailhead has several other trails jutting off in every direction, and has a bathroom. Mountain bikers, horses, and dogs are also allowed on this trail. It has nice wildflowers in summer and amazing colors in autumn. On the way back, take in the views to the north from a few sections of the trail to catch glimpses of Box Elder Peak. This is an easy trail with a lot to see, and it is well worth the drive up the beautiful canyon.
