Pipe Dream is a newer mountain bike trail to the Moab area. It offers an easily accessible warm-up or cool-down option starting right in town. The trail follows the side of the mountain just above the neighborhoods. It’s an out-and-back, which gives you the option to lengthen or shorten the ride according to time constraints.

Although it may not have the remote feel of many Moab-area rides, what it does offer is a beautiful view overlooking the town, some interesting terrain, and a great way to begin or end the day when you aren’t quite ready to get too far away from the hotels and restaurants. It provides some good climbs and fun twisting descents on the hard packed clay with a few run rock features along the way. All the while, the La Sal mountains offer a splendid backdrop to your adventures.

The ride begins right off of Aspen Avenue. There is a little bridge and trail marker. After a quick, steep climb, you’ll level out onto the trail itself. From there, it’s only a matter of riding along the undulating trail until you’re ready to turn around and head back to your vehicle.
