At the eastern gateway to the North Cascades, Winthrop, Washington is a touristy town well known for its American Old West style. Its also a hub for outdoor recreation. Home of America's largest cross-country skiing area, Winthrop welcomes snow seekers in the cooler months along with climbers, hikers, bikers and more during summer and fall. For those adventurers seeking a cheap, centrally located place to sleep in Winthrop, North Cascades Mountain Hostel delivers.

Originally built as a house in the 1930s, North Cascade Mountain Hostel's building has served many purposes over the years. Today it provides a warm and inviting community space for budget-conscious travelers and outdoor enthusiasts. Featuring affordable bunks and private cabins, there is something for everyone at this cozy hostel.

The main hostel features two bunk rooms with 16 single beds and two doubles. Two kitchens, two bathrooms, a dining room, and a common area round out the space. Single beds are a bargain at $25 per night, and doubles are $40 for two people. The two cabins start at $60 per night, and each includes a queen-sized bed, a double foldout couch, and a private deck. Linens and towels are included with all bed reservations.

Well-behaved dogs are allowed with cabin reservations for a $5 per night fee. Contact the hostel directly at 509.699.0568 for further information.
