Property Description

Property Description

Team

The strongest emotion anybody has is their sense of place. Sleeping Lady is a magical place on the east side of the Cascade Mountains of Washington State at the base of a steep canyon where families, groups and individuals can come and be close to nature and at the same time can have the luxury of fine dining, good rest and contact with one another. I want people to leave here and feel as though they can change their corner of the world.

Harriet Bullitt, Proprietor

If you enjoy a little bit of luxury after playing hard, Sleeping Lady just outside the Bavarian village of Leavenworth is the place for you.  Situated at the base of the Icicle Canyon on the banks of Icicle Creek, this unique property has views of the surrounding mountains and access to endless recreational endeavors. Sleeping Lady and the land it occupies enjoy a rich and storied past. From the area’s Native American roots to its function as a home to Camp Icicle and the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s to its role today as a leading Northwest destination and certified B Corp, Sleeping Lady embodies the natural beauty and history of Leavenworth and the Wenatchee Valley.  For a chapter or two of Sleeping Lady’s story, read more here.

Imagine drifting to sleep in a cozy mountain setting under a fluffy down comforter and waking to morning birdsong. Guest rooms at Sleeping Lady are arranged in clusters made up of six to ten private rooms. There are six unique clusters, each named for a nearby natural feature; Cottonwood, Rock, Pond, Meadow, Fountain, and Forest. Two stand-alone cabins, the Rookery and Eyrie, offer a more private setting for special occasions. All guest rooms feature private baths and a warm, welcoming decor that reflects the mountain elegance of Sleeping Lady’s architecture.

Beyond the resort, Icicle Road continues deeper in to the canyon and accesses climbs of varied difficulty on clean, solid granite along with breathtaking hiking in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. If you can, plan ahead and apply for a permit to the Enchantments.
