Campground Description

Of the seven campgrounds in Grand Teton National Park, only Jenny Lake Campground is for tents only. Located nearly in the center of the park, the campground is a great base to explore the park with several trails nearby. Cascade Canyon, the Moose Ponds, Paintbrush Canyon and Leigh Lake are all a short distance away. The boat shuttle dock is a short walk from the campground and during the summer months offers a way to shave at least 2.5 miles off the hike to many of these destinations.

Most of the campsites at Jenny Lake are spread along one very long loop not far from the lake. There is only one bathroom building, so campers in sites at the far end of the loop have a long walk. Some of the sites have views of the mountains, but most are in dense lodgepole pine forest. There are 10 hiker/biker sites in a separate area. All sites are first-come, first-served, and the campground typically fills up by mid-morning, so arriving early is essential

Jenny Lake Campground is typically open from May through September.
