While heavy rainstorms in the afternoon kept folks heading for cover, roughly 500 people came out to attended our first Outdoor Project Block Party Festival in Charleston, SC on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 12-9 pm. Tradesman Brewing Co. was our host in Charleston, as the community came together to explore and learn about Charleston-based adventures, gear + apparel brands, local outdoor organizations, and raise money for local conservation nonprofit Lowcountry Land Trust, and celebrate living an outdoor-minded active lifestyle. Delicious food was eaten, beer brewed on-site was enjoyed, and dogs and children received complimentary Outdoor Project bandanas to wear during this free event!

An afternoon and evening of fun included amazing music by Charleston-local band The Royal Tinfoil and Kentucky bluegrass favorite The Wooks, a live turtle experience provided by Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge, fortune-telling at the Readings by Ashley booth, fresh oysters from Toadfish Outfitters, honey samples from The Honey Trust, yoga demonstrations thanks to Yoloha Yoga Factory (unfortunately a free sunset yoga class had to be canceled due to the rain), and over $3,000 in raffle prizes from national brands and local companies was given away on-site and online via our Charleston Raffle Giveaway.

The best part of the day is that as a community, we raised over $1,200 to support the conservation efforts of Lowcountry Land Trust!

A huge thank you to Tradesman Brewing Co., who donated a percentage of beer sales back to our nonprofit partner; Smoky Oak and Area 51 food trucks, who not only provided the great eats, but also donated a percentage of food sales to our nonprofit partner; and to our 2018 Outdoor Project Block Party Festival sponsors and vendors in Charleston:

KEEN: Better Takes Action

Along with supporting local nonprofits and organizations, KEEN was on-site to share their Better Takes Action campaign and empower fans through KEEN's mobile action center. KEEN's on-site activation promotes voter registration, educates participants about causes related to the environment and our public lands, and encourages people to take action by calling their local elected officials to express their opinions.

Lowcountry Land Trust

Lowcountry Land Trust is a nonprofit that celebrates the profound relationship between people and place by conserving ecologically, agriculturally, and historically significant land and water in 17 counties throughout the Lowcountry. For more information about Lowcountry Land Trust and the mission of the organization, visit LowcountryLandTrust.org.

We look forward to celebrating adventure and community with all of you at our next Block Party!
