We at Outdoor Project had the pleasure to interview Jennifer Pharr Davis as part of our Women in the Wild series this summer. (If you haven't already, check out the full interview.) Jennifer's book, The Pursuit of Endurance: Harnessing the Record-Breaking Power of Strength and Resilience, was published in 2018. She was kind enough to offer us a reading of her favorite passage. Listen in below.
Published in April of 2018, The Pursuit of Endurance: Harnessing the Record-Breaking Power of Strength and Resilience details Jennifer's fastest known time, but it is also a wonderful homage to the legacy of the Appalachian Trail and its most determined thru-hikers. Jennifer's book is equally personal and scientific; it questions the boundaries of human endurance and elevates the place of women in endurance sports. A fantastic read, it will leave you in awe of human ability and inspired to follow your own adventures. Pick up a copy at Penguin Random House, JenniferPharrDavis.com, Amazon, or wherever books are sold. You won’t regret it.
