Westhaven Promenade is an easy and popular walk located in Auckland, New Zealand. This short trek traverses Saint Marys Bay and Auckland Harbour. The trail is mostly boardwalk. The sections that are not boardwalk are paved. This out-and-back trek travels 2.2 miles and gains 206 feet of elevation.

This hike starts off of Westhaven Drive. There is parking available that starts at 15 NZD. Begin hiking west along a paved path. After 0.2 miles, you will come to a boardwalk. You will now be hiking along the shore of Saint Marys Bay. Along this boardwalk, there are many benches to stop and take in the views of the many boats docked here. There are also a few drinking fountains just off the path.

After 0.2 miles on the boardwalk, you will reach Saint Marys Beach. Another 0.1 miles down the path will bring you to the perimeter of Westhaven Marina. Follow along the boardwalk for 0.2 more miles before turning right. Continue traveling along the western edge of the marina. After 0.2 miles, you will come to a paved road and cross it. Turn right onto a boardwalk after crossing the road.

You will now be walking along Auckland Harbour. Here, you will have great views of the Auckland Harbour Bridge. You will also be able to see Ragitoto Island and the Auckland skyline in the distance. After 0.1 miles, you will reach the end of the boardwalk. This signifies the end of the trail. Retrace your steps to return to the beginning of the trail.

Westhaven Promenade is open year-round. The only fees associated with this hike are for parking. Dogs are allowed on Westhaven Promenade. This trail is also shared with bikers. Western Promenade is nice, easy way to experience the beauty of Auckland Harbour.
