The East Rim Viewpoint is a beautiful destination where visitors are treated to panoramic views of interesting geology, Saddle Mountain Wilderness, Marble Canyon, Vermillion Cliffs, and Navajo Mountain in the distance. The viewpoint is a beautiful place to stop and rest or spend a relaxing afternoon.  and is also a popular spot for bird watching. During spring and fall, visitors can enjoy the wildflowers and autumn colors.

After soaking in the sights, visitors can take a walk on one of the several trails that intersect at the East Rim Viewpoint such as the Arizona National Scenic Trail and the North Canyon Trail which extends into the Saddle Mountain Wilderness.
