The Ubud Sacred Monkey Forest is a sanctuary, natural habitat, and the home to Balinese long-tailed macaques. This popular tourist destination is located in Ubud, Bali. The Ubud Sacred Monkey Forest offers visitors the opportunity to explore and be close to nature. Its purpose is to promote peace and harmony among people from all over the world and to deepen the connection between humans and nature. This philosophy is part of the Hindu principle of Tri Hata Karana which seeks to help people live harmoniously. Tri Hita Karana is also a traditional philosophy for life in Bali. 

The forest is located within the Padangtegal community and is managed by Mandala Suci Wenara Wana Management. 

GUIDELINES

In the park, monkeys roam semi-free, and visitors must learn appropriate behavior to avoid disturbing them. The safety of the visitor and the monkeys depends on these guidelines. guidelines.

INSIDE THE MONKEY FOREST

Visitors to the Ubud Monkey Forest will find: 

  • 3 temples (Pura Dalem, Holy Water Temple, and Cremation Temple). 

  • 186 species of plants and trees
