Dawn patrol. Powder days. Face shots. Wool sweaters. Long underwear. Hot toddies. Fireside naps.

Winter is coming.

Powder hounds eagerly watch the weather in anticipation of the first snowfall and their first chance to slap on their sticks and grab some early morning turns. They bask in the flurries and snow drifts while working on their goggle tans, and they spend most of their evenings by the fire in their favorite pair of long johns.

Whether you'd prefer to hibernate and eat homemade pies all winter or you spend every chance you get playing in the snow, there's no arguing that freshly fallen snow can transform our favorite landscapes to quiet, sparkling winter wonderlands just begging to be explored, photographed, and enjoyed.

How do you embrace winter? We'd love to see some of your favorite snow-venture photos in the comments below!
