Rancho Palos Verdes is a city just south of Los Angeles and located right on the Pacific Ocean. It sits up on the Palos Verdes Hills and bluffs of the Palos Verdes peninsula. It’s an affluent community, and visitors and locals alike have plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation right at their fingertips.

With over 10 beaches just a stone’s throw away, several hiking trails within a short drive, and plenty of parks and places of interest to explore, Rancho Palos Verdes is a gem in L.A. county and a landlocked outdoor enthusiast’s dream come true.

This list of activities covers adventures as far north along the coast as Topanga State Park, northeast over to downtown L.A., east to the Chino Hills State Park, and south to Silverado and Newport Beach. They are all located within about 60 miles of Rancho Palos Verdes.

With so many outdoor experiences to pursue in such a small area, Rancho Palos Verdes is quite the southern California outdoor dream town.
