The Bottom Line: The Highpoint 30 is an ultralight daypack that packs down small for easy storage. It's perfect to stash in your main pack for a multi-day backpacking trip where a daypack is needed for hikes away from base camp. Weighing in at just over 6 ounces, the pack is very spacious with a 30-liter cargo capacity and multiple pockets for organization.

The Wildhorn Outfitters Highpoint 30 Daypack. Crystal Sibson.

The Highpoint 30 is a frameless daypack that is incredibly compact when packed away. The entire daypack folds up and stuffs into a pocket located in the lid of the pack. This makes the Highpoint 30 easy to stash away in a larger backpack or travel bag. It can even be kept in your vehicle for those unexpected adventures without taking up too much space. This pack is so light you will barely even notice it's there.

Even though the pack is lightweight, the material is durable. Wildhorn Outfitters built this pack to last, even providing a lifetime warranty to cover any possible factory defects. The Highpoint 30 also comes equipped with chest straps and hip belt for added carrying comfort. There is even a whistle built into the chest strap for added safety.

For being such a compact and lightweight daypack, the Highpoint 30 is incredibly spacious. It has a 30-liter cargo capacity, giving you plenty of room to carry all of your gear. The main body of the pack is accessed through the top of the pack and secured with a drawstring enclosure.

The lid of the pack covers the top opening and clips into the main body of the pack. The top of the lid has a zippered stash pocket to keep all those smaller items handy for quick access. There is a second stash pocket on the underside of the lid for keeping those valuables safe. This is also the pocket that the daypack folds into.

When storing the pack you simply invert the second stash pocket, converting it into the outside of the carrying case. The rest of the pack folds easily and tucks inside. On the front of the pack there is a large stretch pocket for added cargo capacity. There are also two stretch pockets, one on each side of the pack, for securing water bottles.

Wildhorn Outfitters recently updated the design of the pack to include an inner pocket capable of holding a hydration bladder. On the exterior of the pack, there are straps allowing you to easily attach a pair of trekking poles. The overall design of the pack is fantastic for being such a lightweight and compact daypack.

I have personally taken the Highpoint 30 along on multi-day backpacking trips to use as a daypack when exploring outside of base camp. I was quite impressed with the amount of space for gear while being so lightweight. While out exploring I was able to fit a lightweight jacket, snacks, headlamp, MSR Guardian Water Purifier, and a few other small items while barely filling half the bag. During times when I had to climb and scramble, I even felt safe putting my DSLR camera inside of the pack. Overall, I highly recommend the Highpoint 30 daypack.
