For those of you who made it out to the Summer Solstice Block Party at Base Camp Brewing on Saturday, it was a great day to kick off the summer. We had a great time getting to meet a lot of people that came to celebrate the best season of the Pacific Northwest for outdoor adventure.

Lot's of sun, heat, beer, music, and festivities all day long kept the crowd festive. A raffle with prizes from our sponsors raised money for Oregon Wild and Ascending the Giants, two great organizations that work to "Keep Oregon Wild" and help us think big when it comes to our forest and trees. In all, 2,500 people came to the event, an incredible crowd for a first-time block party. Vortex Music Magazine presented music by Melville and Brownish Black. Both bands rocked the crowd into the evening, closing out the longest day of the year.

Our event sponsors had tents and activities. Many gave away a lot of free gear and discounts to anyone who came through. It couldn't have been a block party without their involvement, and having so many of Portland's outdoor, photography and food companies there made the event special. If you made it to this year's event, thanks for coming. If you took photos at the event, share them on Instagram by using the #outdoorproject hashtag. We hope you had a blast.
