Bay Shore Beach is a family friendly gentle beach area in Alamitos Bay toward the south end of the City of Long Beach.

As the beach is separated from the ocean beach by the Alamitos Peninsula, Bay Shore Beach has no waves washing up against the sandy shore. Combined with the plentiful amenities such as a gondola and kayak rentals, playground area, swim dock, picnic tables and concession stands - all of which vary with seasonal openings - Bay Shore is an ideal spot for families with young children to come to for a day at the beach.

The wide sandy shore is protected by a barrier preventing boats from entering the swim area, and lifeguards line the beach during the warm season.

Bathrooms, water fountains, sinks and showers are located at a couple areas of the beach. There are also adjacent tennis courts and a roller rink. Waterfront homes of the upscale Naples and Treasure Island developments stand opposite the Alamitos Bay Channel from the beach. During the summer months, Bay Shore Avenue which borders the beach is closed to vehicle to create a pedestrian promenade along the waterfront area.

Street parking is available. Bay Shore Beach is open from 5am to 10 pm daily.
