The Buckley Ponds are surprising find located just east of downtown Bishop, California. This string of small ponds are picturesque and offer great warm water fishing, as well as a lovely place to recreate or relax. The ponds are as nice as they are today thanks in large part to rehabilitation efforts that have taken place over the last decade.

The ponds are located near the Owens River, in the middle of an otherwise flat and barren landscape. To access the ponds there are a variety of dirt roads and serval different ways to get there (no 4x4 needed).

There are accessible fishing platforms at the ponds, making them available for everyone.

The quiet dirt roads that loop around the ponds also make for a great place to jog or bike. And of course the views of the mighty high peaks of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the distance are incredible.
