The Canyon View Trail is a 1.4 mile trail that winds through the shaded canyon rim land and hilly slopes leading down to a small stream in a quiet pocket of Auburn.

Maintained by the Placer Land Trust, the trail weaves through the 50 acre Canyon View Preserve, offering hikers a chance to walk into a relaxing glen where the city falls into forested footpaths.

There is a large interpretive signboard at the trailhead, along with QR codes along the route where trail users can scan to find informative descriptions that complement their trail experience. Several benches and picnic tables with amazing elevated views dot the path as well.

A signed trail forks to Sierra Canyon Creek, which abuts the Auburn State Recreational Area.

The trail permits cyclists to use the paths as well.

Parking is in a gravel lot adjacent to the freeway, where visitors must cross the street and head down the access path behind the guard rail.

There are no bathrooms or drinking water located at the trail.

The Placer County Land Trust maintains excellent online guides and resources for the area, including bird, wildflower and tree identification guides, on their website.
